Our Origins

• 1962 · National Air Traffic Control Services (NATCS) set up
• 1972 · CAA formed by bringing together much of the aviation division of the Department of Trade & Industry ( which included NATCS) with the Air Transport Licensing Board and the Air Registration Board
• 1978 · CAA Retired Staff Association formed.
• 1996 · NATS became a wholly owned subsidiary of the CAA. CAA RSA became CAA/NATS RSA
• 2001 · 51% of NATS transferred to Private sector
